Professor Langdon returns as the protagonist in this story which finds him working with a museum curator to publish the work of one of his former students who is murdered to prevent the work’s release. The student tells Langdon before his murder that he has discovered where the human race has come from and where it is heading. The student provided a preview of the work to a few religious leaders who then attempt to block the worldwide reveal. I am a fan of the previous Langdon stories and this one did not disappoint. The author raises interesting questions about technology’s impact on humanity as well as the power wielded by religion in today’s society.
