Long Island Science Center - “Toy Tech Exhibit”

The Long Island Science Center will be hosting a Toy Tech Exhibit from July 7th-August 29th. Find out how toys work and how they are made. While you’re at the Long Island Science Center you might even invent a new toy of your own! Learn about mechanical toys, optical toys, acoustic toys and you might even have the opportunity to test a new toy out. The Science Center is located just down the road from the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead. The Toy Tech Exhibit is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday July7th-August 29th 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is $8.00 per person.

Suffolk County PAL Swim for Survival Program for Kids

Swim for Survival Program

Swim for Survival teaches basic water survival skills to children ages 5 through 10 who have had no prior swimming experience. Children who participate in the program will attend four 45-minute sessions, held each Thursday at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue. Sessions begin August 5 and are held at either 5:00 P.M. or 6:00 P.M. For more information and to register, please call (631) 852-6109.

HOW IT WORKS
Every Wednesday at 10:00 am beginning July 7th for six weeks. A fun and rewarding summer reading program developed to encourage young children to read during the summer months. BOOKWORM WEDNESDAYS entitles kids to free admission to a select children’s film when they present a book report at a participating Showcase Cinemas, Multiplex Cinemas or Cinema de Lux box office. Accompanying parents or guardians and children under six receive free admission and do not need to submit a book report.
