Great Websites for Kids

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

The World Wide Web is a big place. Unfathomably big. When it is our youngest of web surfers exploring this vast resource, many questions are raised. What websites are safe for children? What websites will captivate and educate them?

In response to those questions, the Association of Library Services to Children, a division of the  American Library Association, created: Great Websites for Kids. This site separates websites into eight different basic categories: Animals, the Arts, History & Biography, Literature & Languages, Reference Desk, Mathematics & Computers, Sciences, and Social Sciences. Each of these categories are broken up again into several different sub categories. There is even a search feature that allows you to search for sites based on age level or keyword.
