Summer Reading has started! We are very excited to celebrate another summer of reading wonderful books and fun!
Here is the information on our Summer Reading Clubs:
The Seatuck Environmental Association is hosting a preschool program all about leaves, “Feelin Leafy.” The green is back on the scene! You will make leaf crafts, play leaf games and explore the leaves of the woodland world.
When: Wednesday, June 30, 2010
Where: Blydenburgh County Park, Smithtown
Time: 10am-11am
Program Fees - $4 members/$6 non-members

Since 1991 the Regal Entertainment Group has shown select movies for kids and parents free during the summer.
This summer the G or PG movies will start at 10:00am every Tuesday and Wednesday during the film festival. Tickets and seating are first-come, first-served and are limited to theatre capacity.

Friends of the Library Kid’s Day

at the Commack Public Library
18 Hauppauge Rd., Commack
$10 per family
Please join us at the Commack Public Library on Saturday, June 12th for this great event that will feature entertainment and fun for children and their families. There will be face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon sculptures, animals from Pet Den, carnival games, a magician and lots more. Local merchants and volunteer organizations such as the Commack Fire Department and Suffolk County Police Department will also be in attendance sharing information and offering some fun activities for all who attend.

School summer reading lists are out! We have been busy pulling, labeling and displaying Commack school district selections. The K-5 summer reading titles are now upstairs on the starred shelves. The 6-8 titles are on display next to the Reference desk on the main floor. The library also has audio book formats which will be on display as well. So, even if you prefer to listen to your books over the summer, pay us a visit, join the Summer Reading Club and start reporting on your audio books on June 28th!

Mrs. Kelleher, Ms. Albano, and Ms. Doty will be visiting all of the schools in the Commack School District throughout the month of June, to talk to you about the Summer Reading club and to give you some great suggestions for summer reading.
