Please read the following FAQs, then choose "accept" at the bottom of this page.

Reservations are limited to three items per month, per family and you may not borrow the same item more than once per month. Items may be reserved up to two months in advance and are limited to one item at a time per family.

As a courtesy to others, please cancel any reservation you will not be using as soon as possible. If an item is not picked up on the reserved date and you have not contacted us, the Library reserves the right to make it available to other patrons.

• How do I reserve a Library of Things item?

Commack Public Library adult cardholders, 18 and over, and in good standing, may borrow a Library of Things item. Go to our website and click on Library of Things.

• How do I cancel my reservation?

Go to "My Passes" on our Library of Things reservation page, enter your barcode and you will be able to view and cancel your reservation.

• Where do I pick up my Library of Things item?

At the Reference Desk.

• Where do I return my Library of Things item?

Items may be returned at the Commack Public Library only. You must return the item inside the Library at the Circulation Desk.

• What if I return a Library of Things item late?

A $3.00 fee will be charged to your library card if the item is returned late. If an item is lost, the borrower will be charged any fee incurred by its replacement.

• What if the Library of Things item gets damaged?

Please report the damage to the Reference Staff immediately. If the damaged part can be replaced, you will only be charged the cost of the replacement part. If a replacement part cannot be obtained, you will be charged the full cost of the item plus processing fees.

• Can I view my Library of Things reservation?

Yes. You may view your reservations and make changes online at "My Passes" on our Library of Things reservation page.

Library of Things items may be returned at the Commack Public Library only.

If the Library is closed due to a holiday, please return the item at opening on the next business day as it may be booked for another patron.
